2015 Concerts, Movies, Theatre – in the Park!

Grab a blanket, pack a picnic and bring
the entire family to enjoy live outdoor entertainment at the music in the park summer concert series. There are two venues this year with concerts on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings and this year
there’s theater and movies in the Park too. We have a very exciting line-up,
everything from Cajun to Zydeco Country to Salsa. The kickoff to this
year’s series takes place on Thursday July 9th at Lake Burien School Park when we
welcome back the Staxx Brothers. Their blend of soul and hip-hop is very
popular with concert-goers around the region. We think they’re
music’s just perfect for Park summer concerts. WHOZYAMAMA brings the exciting
sounds of Cajun, Creole and Zydeco to the summer concert series with a
foot-stomping beats of Louisiana North SeaTac Park’s first concert in the summer will be off to a rockin’ start. This remarkable band brings accordion, fiddles, electric guitars and its unique French vocals Oui, oui mes amis. La joie de la vie! La musique est fantastique! On July 16th, it’s the Diamond Experience. This acclaimed tribute band brings the
wholesome and heartwarming passion of Neil Diamond’s music to the stage performing such well-known favorites as Sweet Caroline, Song Sung Blue, Cracklin’ Rose and many more. Billy Farmer and the Diamond Experience have performed all over Washington. Now they’re coming to Burien. In addition to concerts at Lake Burien School Park, we’ll also have concerts at North SeaTac Park. On July 29th it’s the soulful
vocal ensemble Abrace. This group sings in 20 languages collaborating across cultures and
exploring the power of music to celebrate diversity. We think you’ll agree it wouldn’t be a
summer concert series without some Latin music. The band Buena Vibra will bring the
salsa, so you bring the chips. This band is considered to be one of the great salsa bands in the region And if that’s not enough entertainment
for you, there are more concerts as well. We’ll have performances by the Highline Symphonic Band, and sweet reggae by Adrian Xavier. There’s also country music with Modern Relics, and gypsy jazz swing and the music of Django Reinhardt from the group Ranger and the Re-Arrangers. There’s even
performances of live theater in the park planned for Wednesday August 5th in North SeaTac Park and on Saturday
July 25th and August 1st and Dottie Harper Park. This year we’ll also have Movie Night in the Park with the Burien Film Festival on
Thursday August 28 at Lake Burien School Park So bring the popcorn and blankets as
this event showcases 10 locally produced short films Summer concerts are held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from July 9th through August 13th, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday concerts are at North SeaTac Park while Thursday concerts are at Lake Burien School Park North SeaTac Park is located at South
