A Soldier’s Play | On Broadway

– The foundation of Soldier’s
Play is a very classic form. It is a murder mystery, but within that, there’s a whole lot of
other stuff going on. – The play is so economical. Everything is for a reason. There are no wasted
words, no wasted moments, and that exploration is what’s
intriguing and compelling and fascinating about this story. – Depending on who is in the audience, with each performance, you could feel them picking and choosing and taking sides. This is a patriotic play
about love and country, but most importantly, the
ride that you are taken on is a thrill ride. – I always think that
theater heads are so great because there’s no filter. That air between the
audience and the performance, that’s where the magic happens. That’s what good art does.
