Geordie Theatre School Bursary Fund 2018-19

[children playing] Hi, my name is Jessica and I run the Geordie Theatre School Today we are back again this year asking everybody in our Geordie family and abroad to help us raise funds for the Geordie Theatre School Bursary Fund. My name is Valencia Razafindrakoto and I am 14 years old. My name is Jordan and I’m 8 years old. My name is Bridgette and I am 10 years old. Béatrice and I’m 7 years old. Hi, my name’s Aaron and I’m 10 years old. I’m 6 and my name is Amrick. The fund is an initiative we started a few
years ago that allows us to give out scholarships to kids from across Montréal to come to the Geordie Theatre School and have fun, learn about being an actor, and to get to perform in front of their family and friends. [children talking] Go! [children playing] 1, 2, 3! Hahahaha! [children playing] It’s important because for example if you’re a shy person, like me, in theatre you get to express yourself more and be more open-minded about things. Because you get to learn stuff and you get to do plays. Well it’s important to go to Geordie Theatre School because it’s socializing and acting
at the same time if you want to be an actor. Because you get to do stuff and play games and do a show. Have experience and have fun. Because we get to do games sometimes. What that means is we would like to raise $2000 to bring all of these kids back and to welcome in a couple more. (Why do you like Geordie Theatre School?) Because I like to be characters. My favorite thing coming to class is playing games. Speaking out to a group of people. Performing in front of people. I knew we were going to do, like, a play at the end and I knew it was going to be fun and I always wanted to do it. Because I want to be an actor when I’m older. [children playing]
