Reply halfdemented August 20, 2019 Easy problem fix for language barrier is to add symbols next to the spell to represent each one. Reply Ruben Mills August 20, 2019 Be bilingual or get fucked. Plain and simple. Reply Alonte Hughes August 20, 2019 I just waiting for Grand finals hero vs hero one gets thwack does 1 percent the other hero uses hocus pocus and instakills🤠 Reply Saber Squid August 20, 2019 I’m in south Australia…. Reply Chrisay Newfarm August 20, 2019 Adding distinctive icons for each skill could help reduce the language barrier issue. Reply DeltaDragonoid225 August 20, 2019 A potential fix for the language barrier in Hero's Down-B would be to put unique icons next to each spell. That way, assuming you took the time to memorize what each icon meant, you would know what Hero has at his disposal anytime he uses down-b no matter what language you speak. Reply kish45 August 20, 2019 Now if Nintendo can just ban Hero from online play like they did with the mii fighters in smash 4 so people don’t have to close out their game everytime they go up against Hero and have to take a penalty for leaving the match. Reply QuizmasterJack August 20, 2019 Language barrier? Come on… it's not like it's the first day that english is the one language you should learn outside of your own. Japanese people being so smart and diligent in school but for the love of rnjeesus can't speak a single word english? "Sori no speak engurishu" Man up, if you're being competetive in any game worldwide, then learn english. Not fluent, but you have to communicate at least a bit. Reply Shred Beru August 20, 2019 Why Hero replenish his MP by hitting? It’s not a thing in DQ, he should replenish with a potion or some other items. Even in a casual scenario, he isn’t well designed Reply soundwave513 August 20, 2019 Language barrier solve: Have an option to select different languages for Player 1 and Player 2. Done. Reply Nylea August 20, 2019 Can’t wait for leffen to display his spells in Swedish after complaining about this just to be a dick Reply Shrek 2 August 20, 2019 This Hero drama is funny as fuck to me lmao Reply Tuukka H. August 20, 2019 Now ban him from everywhere else. This is not even worth of discussion Reply Shrek 2 August 20, 2019 Haven't listened to ZeRo in a while. He sounds a bit different. I mean no disrespect, but I think he comes off more wellspoken now. Maybe it's because this video is scripted as opposed to just being off the cuff. Anyway, I like it. Reply Daddy Ike August 20, 2019 By the way, you can counter Magic Burst if Hero is too close to the edge. If you time it right, you can knock off Hero with an attack ledge get up and use your invunerability frames to stop the cast. Not only he will have no mana, it is most likely you'll just receive 2-3 ticks worth of damange and be back for advantage state. Other than that, you're basically screwed if Magic Burst is well timed and properly spaced on edge. (*OR TECH AND PRAY YOU MAKE IT*) Reply Mojomanmax August 20, 2019 Ugh i really hope they don’t ban him, in any more tournaments i want to see him in competitive play so badly. Reply JamestheKilljoy August 20, 2019 To fix the language barrier, add icons next to the moves so you can understand what is what by just looking at the small icons Reply MissAshley42 August 20, 2019 The language barrier is a more compelling reason for a ban than anything else. I imagine, however, that a future patch will create a static version of Hero with no crits and a set spell list. Reply ThePhantom115 August 20, 2019 I strongly disagree with this ban. Yes the language barrier is one thing, but when it comes to the RNG of the spells, it comes down to how you use it, hocus pocus has a balance of good and bad effects. And honestly, (tell me I'm wrong if I am) all of his attacks are pretty slow, and has no super armor, but still deals decent amounts of damage for the length of the attack, and I have done competitive matches with hero enough to say that you don't need to rely on down B, sure using it every now and then is alright, but it's nothing you should rely on, similar to Peach/Daisy's turnips, and G&W's Judge.Honestly, if you want my honest answer about all of this, The Hero is just a character that people make excuses to complain about (for the most part), I believe if the Hero is banned, it should be only for the language barrier problem, not the RNG. Reply AzureTD August 20, 2019 Fun Fact : In Australia we have a modded version of the game where pokeballs only spawn palkia so that the screen isnt upside down! Reply Andrew Ketchum August 20, 2019 Okay I've been against the Hero bans but the language barrier thing i think is actually a legitimate arguement. Reply Dylicious Ness August 20, 2019 As for the language barrier, I think maybe adding a small colour-cue or even adding colour to the text itself would assist international players with recognizing each move. Reply Just A dude August 20, 2019 why does aus have to get bullied so much i know that ban is dumb as fuck but damn, i don't live on a ceiling 🙁 Reply TroyBoy943 August 20, 2019 #deletehero Reply Jub Jub August 20, 2019 Oh please. Australian here. Stop all these dumb comments, Australia isnt upside down. You guys are the ones upside down. Reply Ethan Michael Crane August 20, 2019 I have to agree with the stance of "no ban." All of the reasons for banning save one strike me as whining by the competitive community, and that one justifiable reason is the language barrier–but this is fixed by instituting a standard language option when using Hero. If all competitive scenes agree to use one language option and make it standard (say, Spanish) across the board, then it would be no big thing to learn what the down B spells are in that standard language compared to one's native tongue. Maybe some wouldn't want to put in the time or effort to learn the translation, but I fail to see how it's different from, say, studying frame rates or opponent techniques. It's just another leg of that IMO. As for watching Hero, I love seeing matches with him as one of the characters. They're fun to spectate. So as a spectator, I want to see Hero compete. Reply JupiterSky August 20, 2019 Ban down B and nerf crits.I did see a comment saying to add symbols to each down b move, I like that a lot. Reply Rodri G August 20, 2019 Hero banned Drama?I see this as an absolute win Reply Max Kessler August 21, 2019 Language Barrier Fix: every move gets a special symbol to represent it which is language independent. Like, thwack could have a little emoji of a salt shaker on it. Reply Glitchy Glitchy August 21, 2019 I'm in the wait & see camp to see how he performs when people get more used to him, but there are valid arguments on both sides. Ultimately, his problems aren't anything that can't be fixed with a patch. Standardize the command list in some way so everyone can read it regardless of language, and give an option to turn item effects off for Hocus Pocus. Add a cap on the amount of damage/knockback a crit can do. You can keep the interesting gimmick of randomness but have it used in a more balanced way. I've been wanting Dragon Quest representation in Smash for the longest time, and it sucks to see both the hate for him and the questionable decisions made for his moveset. Reply Brian Peterson August 21, 2019 Hero is so great Reply MrAlex87 August 21, 2019 They could put a small logo beside every spells to identify them. Thwack could have a square, Oomph a circle, and so on. Reply Dominic August 21, 2019 Hey it is not Hero''s fault he soloed his Adventure and maxed out his level to get as powerful as he is. Reply dynos1999 August 21, 2019 Didn’t know anything about leffen before but gosh he sounds like an asshole from that comment, jeez. No need to be so rude. But toxic community, toxic players I guess. –So long as hero doesn’t get banned from like BIG scenes I’m not complaining, I just want to see awesome players, do awesome stuff with a character from one of my favorites awesome series, and competitive players tend to have some of the coolest, clutchest things going on. As much as I don’t care for being competitive, I enjoy watching it, and I really want to see my boys in the spotlight! Reply MrRATpHace August 21, 2019 Could use color coated text for the ability list Reply tronoification August 21, 2019 I thought austrailians (don't deserve capital letters after this) were tough… Seem like a bunch of pussies. You can't complain about randomness and a language barrier for being able to read your opponent's menu. Turns out its hard to admit you are too bad to keep up, but to agree as a country is pathetic. Reply firepulse August 21, 2019 i feel like the people that just spam HoEs mAD are ignorant and think we complain becouse he is op. but thats realy not the issue here. I would feel devastated if a hero would 1 shot me with wack in finals or getting crited at 20% and dying Reply TheKornett August 21, 2019 mfw all Mana costs are unique so you can differentiate all spells already… Reply trueblueclue August 21, 2019 What they need to do is ban Emus… Oh wait Australia lost that war. Emus can ban Australians. Reply Sumeme August 21, 2019 Color code the spells, ezpz language fix Reply Wai Foo August 21, 2019 I still remember when people were like "give us anything other than another down b counter swordie" lmao Reply THEKINGBETWEEN August 21, 2019 The fix for the hero menu is symbols to represent the moves Reply juandiego1993 August 21, 2019 They can add small icons for every down B option so people can relay on the icon and not the word Reply Eliezer Malave August 21, 2019 A simple solution for the language barrier problem would be to put some kind of symbol sistem , for example hocus pocus could hava a magician hat symbol and sizzle could have a lightning bolt or some thing Reply Blade of Evil's Bane August 22, 2019 Tbh i think the ban is kinda deserved. Rng in a skill based fighting game is…kinda dumb. He is already pretty damn busted even without random bs crits. Reply Steve N August 22, 2019 I really hope the don't patch Hero. I'd rather see him banned from competitive play (the language barrier is biggest reason for me, but RNG is an issue too). Hero is a fun character to play and watch casually. It's fun when someone dies suddenly from wack/thwack or a crit or funny Hocus Poucs effects, but I wouldn't want someone to win a competitive tournament because they got lucky. Reply weegee wegee August 22, 2019 Hero should be banned period Reply shekels August 22, 2019 Hey Zero, have these guys even heard about Faust from Guilty Gear? Reply Wizard Lizard August 22, 2019 For the love of God, just ban his down b! If the only RNG is Smash attacks people will not complain. Not to mention it'll remove the language barrier issue. It's not like RNG will be fine from Smash with his ban. • Judge• Turnip• Green Missile Reply Nameless Bastard August 22, 2019 What if he just doesn’t use down b? I mean it doesn’t stop the critical hits but it’s a start. He might honestly get nerfed to stop that or even change his down b. You never know. Reply Robet Woods August 23, 2019 All those reasons….oh yeah and he cant take u from 0 to 70 in one hit Reply The new Rcc_Albino August 23, 2019 YES GUYS WE WIN HERO IS DEAD NOW AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH UwU Reply Grady Perrine August 23, 2019 To fix the language barrier, the hero main should be forced to use the language their opponent uses. Therefore only hero mains need to learn the other languages, not everyone. This doesn't work for doubles though. Reply Emmett Racine August 23, 2019 To fix the Language Barrier, it would take Nintendo adding some sort of icon to their menus so that you can memorize the images instead. Not anything we can do except make it known to Nintendo that it's a problem. Reply AndreNGropo August 24, 2019 The language should be the enemy's native one. You wanna main Hero, that's the skill cap, memorize the skills on every language. Reply JOB LIAR August 24, 2019 What if we banned the down b menu instead so people could still use him if they wanted Reply Roy L. Ace August 24, 2019 I think a fix to the language barrier would be to add symbols or images to the spells, making it easier to tell which is which without having to learn the language. Reply Sammy Santa August 24, 2019 No wonder they never got dragon quest games. Reply Krash August 25, 2019 I saw someone mentioning the idea of adding icons on the down-B spells to get rid of that language barrier Reply phkennel with friends August 25, 2019 Does that mean mr. game and watch should be banned? Reply netweed09 August 25, 2019 Thank God. A nation with sense and sound judgment. Evolution theory may be correct after all,, who knows,, lol. Only question is: what took a whole month to see how stupid the character was???! $akurai has already undermined himself with his nerfing spree; so this release was a disaster Reply netweed09 August 25, 2019 I 5mashed the like button so hard, with Hatchet Man force Reply Daniel Crawley August 25, 2019 I just think Nintendo needs to nerf the hell outta him. Hes op and the rng is a little much imo 🤷🏾♂️. But people are just gonna keep saying hoes mad and get good, instead of putting up a valid argument as to why he shouldn’t be nerfed lmao. Is what it is. Can’t wait for the next patch Reply Drunken Panda August 26, 2019 Watch he gets unbanned if he gets nerf it’s more hoes mad than rng Reply Rico Guitterez August 26, 2019 Per-me-ates. 🙂 Reply lightninlad August 27, 2019 I don’t see a controversy. Hero is O.P. He has powers that duplicate items. If we wanted to play with items turned on we would. Reply Larry The Traitor August 27, 2019 Please, I hope this is fake Reply MonadoJoJo Zerø August 28, 2019 I think Hero should be only be banned if/when two players don't know the others language. Like if an an American and a Japanese player know the other's native launguage then Hero should be legal. If not, ban them because that would make one player be at an Unfair disavantage. Reply Calen Maier August 28, 2019 Issues I have with hero The fact he can crit with his smash attacks. many characters come from games with critical hits, but none have them on their smash attacks, which have always been balanced as more power means slower frame data. If he’s looking to hit someone hard he’s going to go for a smash regardless, whereas g&w needs to weigh whether he wants to risk the hammer or go for the consistent option. MP is irrelevant until you use magic burst. Mp is supposed to be the balancing factor with his spells, you run out and you lose your recovery. however your able to spam without worrying about MP very comfortably, the only thing that really makes mp relevant is magic burst, which will always burn all of it. Spells should burn way more so that using the menu or charged spells a risk reward scenario. The randomness of the menu. I would like to see some consistency. I would like the top option to always be a projectile like boom or sizzle, a melee spell in the second like kacrackle slash or hatchet man, a buff in the third, and a big play spell in the last. It make playstyle more consistent. A person can play with the normal kit and just use down b for buffs, top decking becomes useful or maybe your melee heavy and you only open that menu for the occasional magic burst or kamikaze. The randomness is still there but you will always have something similar to what you we’re looking for when you opened the menu. Last is the sheer power of attacks. the insta kill attacks should have a minimum percent before they can insta kill. The kamikaze should have no damage but lots of force, that way it’s not worth dropping it at high percent just after you’ve taken a stock. The charged b skills need some scaling down, I’m all for matching the damage of Samus’ charge shot but it shouldn’t have triple the hitbox size. Reply Red Scarlet August 29, 2019 Language barrier…Laugh my ass off…. If people can't read, what about symbol?!?!? Easy fking fix. Reply callum wardle August 30, 2019 In my opinion the reason hero is worse than other characters with rng elements is that say with a G&W, if they use hammer you expect a random outcome and the player will often be using the hammer in the hopes of getting a 9. With hero you have to expect a random outcome on every move because of potential crits or down b spells, and the player is not using any tilt or smash attack hoping for a crit, so in this way its almost more random Reply Monkey4274 Gaming August 31, 2019 Hero is “ZeRo!” Reply Static Chimera September 2, 2019 My personal idea for the language barrier fix is to give each spell a unique symbol. It would fix the language barrier and make the command selection look nice and stylish with all the stickers :3 Reply AngelsStuff September 2, 2019 Thank fuck hero is a stupid character Reply Joe Fiss September 6, 2019 For the language barrier, why not have in-game names allow players to choose their language? Reply yolo September 7, 2019 Just use JPEG on hero RNG movesets list for international competition Reply Oh yeah yeah September 8, 2019 Lololol Metaknight ruined brawl, bayonetta ruined 4, and they never banned that crap. Hero isn't even that strong. Reply HYPERGOAT September 10, 2019 Guys come on, are you serious? 1 hocus pocus out of 100 gets you invincible, and you still want him in tournaments? Come on, i hate when g&w gets a nine, what should i do when he gets invulnerability, fucking shot myself in the head? Come on go play some fortnite if you want RNG. Reply Alex Davis September 11, 2019 Hoes mad Reply Mytty Dohun September 12, 2019 Huh….it’s almost like a character who can kill you at 0% with a SINGLE MOVE is utterly broken or something? It’s almost like even brawl’s meta knight required you to at least hit them more than once to take a stock from your opponent. It’s almost like bayonetta sm4sh required SOME intelligence. ITS ALMOST LIKE HERO SHOULDVE BEEN BANNED ON DAY 1 OR SOMETHING Reply Leppits September 13, 2019 How I react to this: I dont want to see Hero in pro play. It's already tilting enough to lose a stock sub 50% from a crit. I can't imagine someone losing a tourney off of that. Reply Tyler Gill September 13, 2019 mains random for a chance at Hero Reply TheDunsparceGames September 14, 2019 1 continent down, 6 to go Reply Yuhara September 15, 2019 When your upside down and Oreh gets banned. Reply MadSnake123 September 15, 2019 Stupid comment incoming … But, why not just ban the Hocus Pocus move ??? Reply TNUKI September 15, 2019 Hes OP but anyone could kill him easily if they are good lol. Reply Michallote September 15, 2019 I like the music in this video Reply Potato Recording September 17, 2019 If hero's not gonna be banned we might as well turn items on high and stages to random Reply Charles Graff September 18, 2019 Also a big part of the randomness is that it’s not just a few effects that slightly effect the game, but there are literally game changing effects. Imagine a game where a hero is about to get 3 stocked but then brings it back due to a lucky crit and hocus pocus plays Reply C D September 18, 2019 Stuff like this is exactly why I didnt buy this game. Smash is not a fighting game as intended by the creators, it is by a portion of the fans and that's it. Plus the community is toxic as hell, I've never found a FGC whine as much as the smash one. Reply Yak Bomb September 22, 2019 Well I mean you can make down b have the same menu everytime like in homerun contest For crits, make them begone. Reply KrakeN HeaD September 23, 2019 "Because of the language issues…these cards get banned…" That's actually not correct. Cards in TCGs don't get really get banned like that. As far as big name card games goes, In MTG you can have foreign language deck and even weird style humongo-sized cards you can make a deck with and legally play with in tournaments. Obviously they don't contribute to the speed or to the clarity of the game-play for players especially when you need to make verification or special accommodations… but its far from undo-able. There's also plenty of judges ruling and by the time you're pro you know what the cards do anyways. I seriously doubt that no one has thought of a fix for Hero's language barrier. Example: Replace the Hero's text spells with graphics instead of words, or stylize the words to the point where non-native speakers can associate their symbols with the spells. Its called graphic design, we do it in real life for bathrooms and poison control. Obviously its not something players can just hack into their Switch and do, but then again, its not my problem. Someone should nag Sakurai and get a patch going. Funny about the ban honestly. IMO Hero's the only interesting character to come out this year with more than mediocre design flavor. Reply calvin September 26, 2019 What if they added colored shapes or icons next to hero’s spells in the menu? Reply Smalliced September 26, 2019 HOW ABOUT MAKING THE SPELLS LESS OP % WISE ?a big hitrange is dangerous enough~but the item spells should be banned ofcuse symbols instead of words for the spells and to balance sht out remove some of the negativ spells Reply XxTryhard2409 October 2, 2019 If you play 2 pikachus, or 2 Links, or even 2 K.Rools against each other, they have the same tools and all it comes down to is their skill. With 2 Heroes the one with better Rng gets an advantage. That is by defenition anti-competetive. Reply completely random October 6, 2019 You know there is a thing called the "SHIELD" button, you know what it can do kids? It BLOCKS attacks, so use it as often with Hero as you can kids, Aside from hatchet man and kamikazee, Oh and Magic Burst is a HUGE DRAWBACK in cade you don't know kids. I gotta act like this cause the smash community is full of babies Reply Catseman October 13, 2019 Language barrier fix: Use pictures Reply NylodnewgPlaZ October 18, 2019 The only way to solve a language barrier like that would be to have two separate switches playing local multiplayer and have those who need a particular language on one and have one in English. But they would never do that because that can introduce other issues. EDIT: I mean the only way to solve without Nintendo changing the move or anything Reply Add a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
