So here we are in the pit. We’re down in the bowels of the Bagley Wright and we’re gonna go into prop storage right now. Is this the coolest space ever? You know I’ve given a lot of tours over the years to different people, and one time I was given a tour to a seven-year-old girl and her five-year-old brother. But, I said you know our old, my old operations manager Jim Carpenter disappeared one day and I don’t know what happened to him. Why here he is right here, Jim Carpenter. That was the end of the tour, the kids were so frightened. But if you look around here, this is an amazing collection that Jolene Obertin has catalogued. During a student matinee of Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2001 we had an earthquake. Only two glasses dropped in the prop storage area and broke because Jolene is so smart, she puts everything back on the shelf at least three inches. This is why I like working at the Rep. I mean there’s just so much cool stuff here, and the people who all work here are so skilled at what they do, that I find that if you’re working with people that are good at what they do and they like what they do, it makes a work environment second to none.
