Reply Jess’s World August 10, 2019 Can you please react to Jane The Virgin Michaels shooting and in the hospital scenes please 👌🏻😁 Reply Perhapsapanda August 11, 2019 "She wubs him" Reply Kristin Greske August 11, 2019 Hey Dr. Mike. I work in an ED on the night shift. I’m the clerk and am in nursing school. I see a lot of things in the ED so it’s fun to watch a show like this and say “that doesn’t happen” “that definitely would not happen” lol. However the show is entertaining. Keep doing what you do Dr. Mike! Reply 37VQV August 12, 2019 I took the MCAT in 2013, pretty much the same exam dr Mike took. The exam was graded in 1-15 integers for each section Physical Sci/ Verbal reasoning / Biological sci and then we had a written section that was graded on a letter basis so your final score would look something like 31-S. There was never a point where the MCAT had you receive a score that was a non-integer. Reply Caesar Yumury August 13, 2019 Tha face you put when yu say you don't shock dead patient says otherwise Reply Emma Rogers August 13, 2019 Overlook in NJ?!?! I work for AHS EMS! And Overlook is one of our hospitals! Reply Lovely Laura xoxo August 13, 2019 One of my best friends was stabbed over a 100 times by a patient. She lived but will never work again. Reply Arkyvor August 13, 2019 I'm so grateful that we have the NHS (the Nation Health Service) in the UK because I have heard about the medical costs that happen when you go to the hospital in America, and that scares me the amounts people have to pay for healthcare. Reply Sella Moon August 14, 2019 I work as a paramedic (kinda, can't be rly compared to the ones in america) and in my country they started a campaign around two years ago to raise awareness of the fact that the attacks against policemen, firefighters, paramedics etc are getting more and more frequentEg there was a case were someone called 911 and said there was an unconscious person lying in an alley and when the paramedics arrived on the scene, the man lying on the floor jumped up, reached for an iron bar and tried beating the paramedics up; when they fled into their car he continued demolishing the car; was kinda crazy Reply Poison Honey August 15, 2019 ''….She wuvs him.'' Dr.Mike, medical professional, everyone! 😀 Love this guy XD<3 Reply Lulu August 16, 2019 Sorry but it’s one of my fave medical dramas ❤️❤️ Reply suzanne gullace August 18, 2019 My best friend, single mom waitress, bought her own home barely, cant afford insurance has huge hernia, she cant get help she makes too much, she has to push it in. Reply Sarah Higgs August 18, 2019 Fun fact: The scene with the patient that goes wacko and the doctor put him in choke hold, wouldn’t actually hurt the guy. That was a stage choke. The actor/extra had control of that choke hold the entire time. Reply kermit_san_ 420 August 20, 2019 Is…is that gwaine?.? Reply Ramón Ontiveros August 20, 2019 I’ve been inpatient in the Behavioral Health Unit enough to know that if someone pulls that level of irrational violence it’s perfectly fine to do a choke hold until you can properly restrain them. They can do way more damage to themselves and others then a chokehold or a trip would produce. Reply Tjorben Schröder August 22, 2019 Boa.. die USA ist was das Gesundheitssystem angeht echt fürn arsch. It gives a law in germany to have every people a insurance. A law!!! Reply Xavia A. By episode three of the first season we have two sisters. One is sleeping with the others husband during a weekend hunting trip. The cheating sister is severely injured and needs surgery butshe has an extremely rare blood type. And her sister is the only viable donor. Her healthy sister is so angry about the adultery that she refuses to give her blood. So Dr. Bleeding heart tries to convince her to change her mind. She still says no. So he knocks her out with drug and takes her blood. The other Doctors figure out what he did. Hesitant for a moment but continued with the surgery. End of episode no repercussions. 🤨🤔 Reply NFC Kelnayden August 23, 2019 Kinda stupid you need insurance just to pay for treatment Reply annie leprince August 23, 2019 Serously I didn't know that health care was so complicated in the United States, in Canada we have health care for free and everything is taking care of by the government, the procedures, bills, payroll, etc. I mean that's why we pay taxes so that everyone can have care. I don't really like the fact that hospitals in Usa are business and that you can have some people either in serious debts or not treated because they don't have insurance or the money to pay, that INSANE!! Reply Chelsea Clark August 23, 2019 Tbh they do teach you that as a 68w in the army but not just basic medical and tbh war and medical we use what we can Reply Chris August 23, 2019 This is the silliest show I've ever seen. It's almost like a parody of a medical show. Reply rose080891 August 25, 2019 USA needs an NHS Reply Isaias Martinez Jr August 25, 2019 Worked as a paramedic and EMT for years and now I'm in medical school. I have seen a lot of what is portrayed on the show in person. Now as for the doctor I respect his opinions and comments but it matters where you work. States have limitations and the level of trauma hospitals as well. Reply Ashwin Khadka August 25, 2019 Pacemakers have a special magnet that turns the pacemaker off when placed on top of pacemaker. I love that show!! Reply Manoj Kumar September 2, 2019 The name Hippocratic oath sounds quite ironic if you know what I mean😬 Reply KaterchenSama September 2, 2019 Why … why do the say GSW, when calling that literally has more syllables in speaking than Gunshotwound ? Reply John Doe September 3, 2019 hey, from my time shadowing in the ER, i can tell you that for specific models of defibrilators a specific magnet designed for that can shut them off. we kept them next to our machine to interrogate the pace makers. Reply John Doe September 3, 2019 Sorry, I do not agree with your assessment of that scene. that is one of the few scenes I've ever seen with a proper sleeper hold and medically speaking it is not incredibly dangerous if done by someone who knows what they're doing, as this guy seems to. if a patient or anyone takes a swing at you, you're allowed to protect yourself, even if that means going hands on. I think that was a well executed maneuver that prevented others from getting hurt or that guy from hurting himself Reply John Doe September 3, 2019 I would imagine his war training helped him with that. I know a vet who managed to survive a fracture of the axis bone at the odontoid process, managed to get flown back to the states where a team of doctors was able to perform a c1-c3 fusion. I'm guessing I will never see anything like that again in my career. Reply John Doe September 3, 2019 While I agree its wrong to esentially torture a patient because of their mistake/criminal status, they aren't not saving him, they're taking away his pain meds which doctors do all the time. I know a guy in a very similar situation (MVA DWI on heroin) who the doctors refused to give pain meds too. granted, that was due to the heroin use. Money should not intervene in your duty to your patient. Reply Julie Anne Bayotas September 20, 2019 Please watch Disaster Day or Heart Surgeons! I work on a surgical/trauma ICU, i get yelled at, bitten, punched and kicked almost weekly. 80% of the patients that do this are have a postoperative delirium but the other 20% go unreported and that in my opinion is just f*** up. Reply Zesty Lemon Zach September 27, 2019 I don't understand what it is with every single tv show that came after 2010 and their incredibly clunky and unsubtle exposition delivery. Also the military stuff is cool too. If you're like me and don't know much about medical stuff or you just don't care about accuracy, definitely a great show Reply Invisible October 10, 2019 can you tell us more stories about codes white and silver? when the people are violent, and when they carry weapons? and is there any code that would be used as a final resort? like let's say all the codes at the same time! .. example : code rainbow? codes white, blue, red, silver, black , etc all at the same time? Reply Everything Edith October 10, 2019 This show looks like garbage. Dr Mike was so sweet in his review . Reply Madyson Roberts October 10, 2019 I feel like Dr. Mike doesn’t realize this is a show based in TEXAS so yeah it gets crazy here 😂😂😂😂😂 Reply Adam vanwey October 11, 2019 Just watched this video as I'm more than a little behind. But saying something is gay isnt shaming them. As a soldier, marine, sailor, airman we dont care your sexual preferences. Its military speak and lingo we understand and are not really that offended. At least none I have worked with. Just the way things are and it's a basic understanding we dont all speak in the politically correct language but we all share a meaning and love for another Reply Avengers-rule103 October 11, 2019 I’m sorry, now I’m just imagining walking into a hospital and there being a bunch of shirtless doctors walking around 😂 Reply Gabi Gillespie-Fitzgerald October 11, 2019 Bizarre ER. Reply Baekhyuniieeelavv Bby October 13, 2019 Dr. Mike’s “she wuvs him”UWWUUU💖💕💕 Reply Nicholas Courtnage October 14, 2019 I find these videos incredibly entertaining and informative; however, it is hard for me to listen to the experiences of a 2nd year doctor. As an 11 year teacher I feel like I have a wealth of stories but my friend who is in his 2nd year is very hard to listen to with what stories he brings to the table. I am just saying I would find this more reliable if you were further along in your practice. Reply HadridarMatramen October 14, 2019 The whole dilemma of treating people without insurance or anythinig like tht disappears if you simply make healthcare a public concern, as it should be. I live in Norway, and I pay a tiny sum for getting smol cuts sutured, or seeing my GP, but if I need to be admitted to hospital, I don't see a single bill for it, ever. And that is how it SHOULD be. Reply HadridarMatramen October 14, 2019 …..Teratomas sound like the stuff from the most horrible nightmares or horror videos that would make me puke. I….really don't wanna have one of those. Ever. Reply John Smith October 15, 2019 1:25 NO! As someone that has had an ICD malfunction you're not just doing a little convulse while sitting there like that. Also, yes magnets will turn them off. Reply andy luo October 15, 2019 The internal decapitation happened once a number of years ago. The patient was a boy roughly 8-12 years old automobile accident. Not fully sure of the mechanics but it separated the base of his skull from the spinal column. Paramedics had to use c-collars and whatever else they could. Surgery took over 14 hours but the boy was alive. The patient is currently doing ok though he is paralyzed from the neck down and requires a wheelchair to move around. There is some regained sensation through his arms but it’s the best situation currently but patient needs additional surgeries to keep up with paralysis. If you don’t believe me try untold stories of the ER or a documentary it’s out there. Reply Gillian Davidson October 15, 2019 Dr Mike you should watch Casualty it's a UK medical show and it's been running for over 30 years or more. Also how about some historical med dramas such as casualty 1900 not sure but I think they go up to 1906 or longer but sure. Reply Add a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
