Theatre UCF Presents: SEMINAR

brilliant witty language, exciting
thought-provoking dialogue, sophisticated characters… those are some of the themes
that we’re excited to support. To create a comedy that is thought-provoking, that
opens up ideas about art and teaching and learning and humility. This play also
deals with a question around writing– what it makes to be a good writer. There
are five characters in the play: the four young writers hire an established
literary figure to conduct a seminar to guide them through their writing process.
It touches on contemporary themes for the nature of creativity. There’s a lot in
the play that has to do with power and ethics or powergames
that characters play with gender parity. It’s a great play. it’s engaging,
it’s funny, it’s witty, and it’s thought-provoking, and that’s what any
good piece of theatre should be about.
